Microsurgical dennerv ation in treatment of focalcervical muscular dystonia: analysis of treatment of 14 patients with retrocollis

Abstract

14 patients with retrocollis were enrolled into the study. All enrolled patients underwent 19 microsurgical denervations of dystonic muscles, including 14 selective posterior ramisectomy of C1-C6 rootlets (Bertrand's procedure), 5 denervations and myotomias of dystonic muscles of omo-trapezoid triangle. The outcome evaluation was conducted via neurological examination and TWSTRS- questionnaire. The outcomes showed decrease of severe retrocollis to 0%, severe disability decreased from 100% to 21,42%.
