Abstract

The effect of melatonin on indicators of prooxidant-antioxidant homeostasis, carbohydrate metabolism, liver condition and humoral immunity at the animals with experimental type 2 diabetes were studied. It was established that the usage of this agent at a dose of 10 mg / kg intraperitoneally during 10 days lead to inhibition of lipid peroxidation processes, activation of humoral and antioxidant protection of the organism, reduce levels of glucose and markers of liver damage.
